Following the International Day of Older Persons on 1 October, and as part of Luminate: Scotland's creative ageing festival, this event will focus on individuals, organisations and projects working to increase the number of older people engaging with creative activity, either as participants, audiences or professional artists.

Valerie Laws on Slicing the Brain, and other work

Hazel McHaffie on Remember, Remember, and issues surrounding dementia

Maeve Dixon, West Dunbartonshire Council on Clydebank Museums 'Remembering Scotland at War'

Jo Clifford, Professor of Theatre and Bill Findlay Fellow of Stage Translation at Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, and Associate Playwright of the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland. Writer, playwright, performer.

Availability

Tickets for the event are free of charge, but spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.  The event begins at 2pm and registration will be open from 1.30pm on 4 October.

What is ‘Insights and Ideas’?

Insights and Ideas is a creative café style meeting place for researchers, practitioners and policy makers.  The events take place on the first Thursday of every month, with each cafe focussing on a different topic.  This is a joint project organised by Creative Scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland.  Follow the discussion on Twitter using #insightscafe
